April showers, bring May flowers!
Spring is around the corner, really it is! I know in certain parts of the country that seems like a long way off with snow covering your ground outside of your window. But before we know it we will all be basking in the sun enjoying time outdoors, planting flowers and enjoying blooms all around us.
To prepare, spring is a great time to pull out your flower vases, large and small and clean them up so they are ready to go when you bring in those bountiful bouquets from your garden....or from the store.
Most vases are a quick and easy clean. However, if you have vases in your cupboard that seem to always have a film in them due to the fact that you can't reach inside easily to clean them or they are too big for your dishwasher, I have a simple fix. I have used Efferdent tablets (denture tablets) for years to clean out my vases and also antique bottles as well. Just fill your vessel with warm water and pop in a tablet or several, depending on the size of your vase and let it do it's thing. Stubborn stains might need a few treatments but all in all this should be a simple solution.
A quick thank you to Deb Wiles for the beautiful photo of the spring flowers that happened across my desk just as I was writing this post. I took the liberty of putting it into the Waterlogue app.
Spring IS coming!
