Change is good!

Change is good!

Change is good!

For as long as I can remember I have loved change. Change of location, change of environment, change of weather. I love to move, because when I do I can create different spaces with what I already own. I purposely put things in different spaces and locations to keep things fresh and interesting. Have faith in yourself. As I said in a previous post, collect and buy with purpose and you will have all you love within reach to create a new and fresh look all on your own!

When I was a tween, I clearly remember saying to my parents, “don't come upstairs until I tell you to”.  I LOVED moving my room around. A new “view” was always exciting to me. The thought of opening my eyes in the morning and looking at a whole new arrangement of my room was exhilarating!  My mother used to say she never knew where she would kiss me goodnight.

I still love moving furniture around. I will jump at the chance when a friend asks if I would help move a room around.  It is not uncommon to start with one and before we know it we have moved on to another room.  It is my guilty pleasure. It gives a room a new lease on life. I recently came back from a visit to see my daughter in Colorado. She has a lovely two bedroom apartment that she shares with her college roommate. Just before I arrived they had decided they needed a change and moved the living room around and created a whole new look. It looked amazing. I am hoping she got the “change is good” gene. She certainly witnessed change in our homes all her life.

Sometimes we live in a space and never think it can be changed around. You don't see the possibilities right in front of you. You might surprise yourself. Once you do it, you will wonder why you didn't do it months or years before. Nothing is forever!  So shake it up and embrace the change.

Now get busy!!!!
